Here are the sound files from our prank calls in 2002 – 2003, mostly to people associated with Jason Heckathorn…
Ad In The Paper #1: When we found out that Jason was working in the deli of a grocery store, we decided to shake things up there by calling in repeatedly, using different voices, and claiming that he had put an ad in the paper for a car for sale. This clip initially starts out with confusion, but then a supervisor gets on the line, pissed that Jason would use the store’s number for an ad, and gives us his home phone number and tells us that she will “ream” him. We didn’t have his home phone number at the time, so this was an awesome thing to have given to us without any effort.
Collect Call From Jason: RBCP makes a fake collect call to Jason’s work while on a conference. When the lady who answers presses touch tones, things quickly unravel.
I Am Jason: RBCP pretends to be Jason Heckathorn, calling his work to take messages for his car that’s for sale. It doesn’t end well.
Jason Quit: A coworker at Jason’s deli job tells us that he won’t ever be there again because he walked out. We assume that this is because of his supervisor reaming him.
Jason’s Roommate: RBCP calls Jason’s roommate who denys that Jason has ever lived there.
Heywood Calls Jason’s Roommate: This is a call Heywood made to Jason’s roommate after the Deli gave us his number. By this point, people had already been pranking him at his home for awhile. You’ll notice that the roommate can’t stand Jason, even before we started calling him. This is a long call, but it’s fun to listen to because the roommate gives you an idea of what a nutjob Jason is.
Jason’s Grandma: Heywood makes a courtesy call to Jason’s grandma, letting her know that billions of people from the internet will be making harassing calls to her because of Jason. Listen to her jab at Jason, saying that Jason is good at making people angry. (Don’t worry, we didn’t actually harass this old lady at all. This was our only call to her.)
The RV Park Lady: RBCP calls up a relative of Jason’s who has nothing nice to say about him. There are 4 calls here and we even get to talk to the wife’s husband. Like most of Jason’s relatives, this one doesn’t seem to like him either.
Jason’s Stepbrother: The mere mention of Jason Heckathorn causes his stepbrother to tell us he would never let him in his house and then hang up.
Jason’s Sister: After being hung up on, RBCP calls right back and talks to the wife of the stepbrother. She tells us that Jason was kicked out of his mom’s house years ago for stealing from his mom.
Jason’s Mom: Listen to the voice of utter contempt as Jason’s mom talks about her son. She tells RBCP that she has a restraining order on him and that she’s not sorry he’s gone.
Jennifer Calls Jason: It’s hard to keep Jason on the phone to make an amusing prank call with him until Heywood discovers the secret weapon to keep him from hanging up – a 10-year-old girl. Listen to Jason take on the role of a father, telling her not to curse, then tells her a police officer is there in the room with him. You’ll also hear him make references to being an EMT, something that will never happen.
You’re The 90th Caller: After setting up a perl script that automatically causes hundreds of people a day to call Jason’s home phone number, RBCP calls and pretends to be a victim of the calls. We’re not sure who this lady is since Jason can never seem to land a girlfriend, so it’s probably one of his many short-term roommates.
RBCP Tricks Jason: RBCP calls Jason’s house again to pretend to be a victim of pager bombing and this time he gets to talk to Jason who encourages him to file charges against Heywood.
Jason’s Voicemail Message: This is Jason’s outgoing voicemail message that references our prank calls to him.
