And he’s back…

In early July, my good friend Rob The Hyena convinced me to move Cacti Radio to the hosting company that he uses. While PRQ.SE is a good host to taunt Jason with, it doesn’t offer much in the way of features and I was kind of missing those features on cactiradio.com. Not for the Jason fan page, but for other things that I do with Cacti Radio. I knew that Jason would eventually complain to this new host, even after he promised that he was done with all of this, but I moved it anyway. It took Jason 2.5 months, but just last week I got the following letter from my host:

We’ve received the following complaint regarding your site:

——————————–
My name is Jaysen Johnson and I am writing to file a formal complaint
regarding a customer using your DNS services for the domain
‘cactiradio.com’.

The customer, Brad Carter, operator of Phone Losers has created a
defamatory website about me at the url http://www.cactiradio.com/jason
which contains defamatory content about me including audio files of
recorded phone conversations of my family without their knowledge or
consent, photos of me that he obtained without my knowledge or
permission and libelous statements about me.

This person refuses to remove this content about me which has had an
affect on my personal and professional life. Therefore, this is a
request from me asking you to take immediate action and remove this
customers services pursuant to your Terms & Conditions under Acceptable
Use/Illegal Activity as cited below.

Uploading or linking to any content that violates another’s right of
publicity or privacy.

Distributing hate speech, or any other content that is obscene, abusing,
which could be considered libelous and defamatory.

I am prepared to take legal action if necessary however I feel this can
be resolved in a peaceful manner between us which is what I prefer.

I ask that you keep this complaint as well as my personal contact
information confidential by not providing it to your customer as that
could cause me more harassment.

I love that last part, where he asks the host not to give me a copy of this letter, but then my host does anyway. Like they’re going to cancel my account and not tell me why. You can also see that Jason asks them to remove my services immediately, hoping to have my site completely removed from the internet without warning. My host was nice enough not to do that, but they ordered me to remove the Jason page within 24 hours.

So the Jason page was down for 4 or 5 days while I searched for a new host. I was hoping to find something with more features than PRQ offers, but ultimately gave up and went back to PRQ, where I’ll stay until I think I’ve found something better. So that I don’t have to lose features on cactiradio.com, I’ve created this new domain called bigbeefbueno.com, and, as you can see, the new home for the Jason Heckathorn fan club is now at bigbeefbueno.com/jason/. I don’t have any plans for the rest of this domain at this time, but I’ve been using the BBB name for years now, so I figure it could come in handy one of these days. At the very least, I can use it as a repository for things that get banned from my U.S. based websites.

As you can see, Jason, when I said earlier this year that I will keep this site up forever, that means that I actually plan to keep it up forever. I’m not going to get bored with it or take it down just because it’s too much effort to keep dealing with your harassment of my hosts. I’m willing to continue paying for extra hosting, just to keep this up. I can afford to do things like this because I’m not a huge spaz who can’t keep a job or a place to live. And also because I don’t desperately hand out $40 tips to cute bartenders, hoping that will make them go out with me.

In other news, the Jason Heckathorn Fan Club page has reached #1 on Google when searching for “Jason Heckathorn” or “Jaysen Johnson.” I’m pretty sure moving this page to a new domain might negatively affect that ranking, but still… yay for us! This sudden host move has given me renewed interest in Jason, so I plan to add some things to the page soon. Also, hang in there while I fix the sidebars on this page – they’re still all pointing to stuff on cactiradio.com which won’t work on this site.
